A very elaborate complete sword from East Borneo, Mandau. The long sword has a handle carved from bone, depicting a face; its sheath is carved from wood and decorated with typical Dayak ornaments with added bird feathers and long animal teeth. The attached small knife has a long wooden handle with a male figure sitting on the top; its sheath is covered with animal fur. It also features decorations made from glass beads attached with a leather string. A rare Dayak sword!
